Toddle, Toddle, Toddler

Wow it has been a long time since I posted an update.Declan is a toddler! He runs every where, actually, I don’t think this child even knows how to walk. His vocabulary is amazing; he learns several new words a day and can even say short sentences. The other day he stated “I don’t want a diaper!” at the time he was naked. He loves to play outside and push things around the backyard. He loves to give hugs and kisses to everyone. He is super friendly and he is really good at sharing toys with other kids. We have Declan enrolled in 3 classes. Mondays we have Judo, and Fridays we have a Chinese immersion preschool. We will be starting a messy art class in May that will be held every Thursday. He has discovered chocolate and even though he rarely gets it, he still asks for it ALL the time. I have a little chocoholic lol. Declan has been sleeping in his own toddler bed for about 2 months now and he has been weaned for a little over a month. He loves to eat all types of fruit, beans, cheese, pasta, and polenta to name a few things, and he drinks a TON of milk now that he’s weaned. Declan is really good at using eating utensils and he has mastered the art of drinking from a cup. Although, nobodies perfect so he only gets one when in the highchair and the rest of the time he still uses a straw cup.His latest major physical accomplishment is his ability to jump with two feet, on his own, on flat ground. As of yesterday he weighs 31.5 pounds and is wearing 2T clothing.
Our only major “problem” right now is the fact that he doesn’t listen very well. If he is not in his stroller when we’re out in public he will just take off and he refuses to hold my hand.

Little Mover

Our cruiser has official moved on to a walker. He has finally built up the confidence to let go of my hand and walk, but he only does that when he has a destination in mind. Tonight he had his first fall. He did a face plant off of our neighbor’s patio into gravel. It looked awful his face was covered in little rocks and mud and it was cut up and bleeding. I was trying to comfort him and clean it off with a towel and he was just screaming. Turns out he was screaming because I was wiping his face and the "blood" was only raspberry juice lol. He has a few scrapes but nothing to write home to grandma about :)
He started to really walk on his own about 2 or 3 days ago and he can already walk 15+ steps. I am so proud of my little man!
We have entered a new realm of babyhood called independence aka temper tantrums. Mr. Man will porpoise his body and melt to the flood squealing, yes squealing, not crying and whine until he is either distracted or gets his way. If he needs a nap they are intensified 10X. I was at the store the other day and I actually had to leave and wait outside because of the scene he was causing, I looked at my phone and saw it was almost an hour past nap time. I plopped him in the Ergo and was able to finish my shopping while he slept.
Declan has 11 teeth, 6 on top and 5 on bottom! His bottom right molar has been working its way in the last week and I believe it has a lot to do with the tantrums we are experiencing ;)
Time to wind down and turn off my brain by turning on the TV

HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!!!!!
