29 weeks

Wow, 29 weeks. It’s so weird that I am so close to the end of this journey and to the beginning of the next. I feel so incredibly lucky to be experiencing the creation of life.
Our son, that has such a nice ring to it.
I have discovered the joys that being over weight before pregnancy can bring. I didn’t pass my glucose tolerance test. Just to make sure I really do have gestational diabetes they are going to torture me a bit and make me do the 3-hour glucose test. I will admit that I am a little scared. Our little Declan feels much larger than he should be and this could be due the GD. If we don’t get it under control and even if we do there is a chance that he will be too big for a vaginal birth.
Having a c-section is one of my biggest fears.

28 weeks 1 day Nursery!

It’s done! I finished painting at about 2pm today. So it took me about 3-4 hours, including many breaks, to get the job done. Not bad for a sore pregnant lady on her own.
My goodness, Declan has been going nuts today! He has done like two days worth of movements in 10 hours. I get the feeling he is going to be a handful, just like his mommy and daddy were. Here are a few picks of the painted room! The color is a lot more blue than the paint chip led me to believe. It's an interesting color though. In the sun light and with a camera flash it is a very intense blue. Under a house light the color has that awesome blue tint to it. Even though it is very blue, I still adore it!

28 weeks

I just got done painting Declan's room! Well the first coat is on and I did it with a lot of help from Erica. She did the spackling, all work that required climbing the stepladder and general painting prepping and clean up. I absolutely adore the color! It's called Charted Waters. It is a beautiful blue, gray, green. This pic doesn't quite capture the color at all because it's dark out and I had to use the flash. I am going to upload more pics in the day after the second coat is up. I just love the contrast of the white trim and rich color. I think it is going to look even more amazing when the white furniture in the room.
Erica asked me now big he is and I realized that I had no idea! He feels huge though! I looked it up and this week little Deco is around an amazing 14.8 inches and 2.22 pounds.
I have my glucose tolerance test in 3 days and I am so nervous!
I am so sore after painting. It's not comfy at all for a pregnant lady to bend and stoop continuously for a couple hours. It was totally worth it. I feel awesome with a great sense of accomplishment!

27 weeks 5 days

I did my first official kick count a little bit ago and it only took 4 minutes to get my 10 kicks! Declan is one strong, active little boy. Feeling him roll, twist, swish, kick or stretch makes me feel like the happiest woman in the world.
Third trimester is hitting me hard. Baby thinks mommy’s bladder is a trampoline and comfy pillow. I am hungry all of the time but I can only eat a small amount in one sitting and I get horrible heartburn a while later. I am so exhausted, I toss and turn and I can barely sleep at night. To make sleeping even harder Shane is in DC for the next week. I am so jealous! I have been dying to go to DC forever and he finally gets a trip out there and I have to stay home. The ironic part is I, coincidentally, don’t work for the next 6 days. I should be able to get a lot of stuff done around here though.
I am a little worried about the kitty. I don’t think he is going to adjust very well to having a baby in the house. If he sees, hears or even smells a baby he hides in the basement. I have seen what usually happens to the pet when a baby is introduced. Mr. Kitty Face is going to get ignored and shoved away. Poor Mr. Kitty.
I cant wait for out vacation! Canada and a sweet ocean breeze for 5 days! Sounds like heaven. Only 11 days until we leave

NURSERY!! 27 weeks 2 days

I couldn't wait any longer, I had to put our baby stuff! having it all trapped in bags in the basement was driving me crazy. I'm not sure when we are going to have the money to paint so I might as well start setting things up now. Right? :)
I took out all of the 0-6 month clothes since I have no idea how big Declan is going to be. A lot of babies never fit into the newbie stuff and move straight into the 3-6 mo items. Here are a few pics.

27 weeks minus one day :)

I finally went and got my hiar fixed! I totally ruined it about a month befor I got pregnant and I have been dealing with it for too many months! I am now a great even toned brunette. I have an appointment for the 23rd at Salon Nyla to get a facial, my nails done, a 30 minutes massage and a new hair cut. I have a gift certificate for these services I bought like 8 months ago and I am finally getting around to using it. I am super excited! I have never had a facial before.

The baby's room is empty! I am so fricken excited! I have soo much baby stuff that needs to get unpacked and set up.

26 weeks 5 days

Declan has out grown his room but he still likes to strrrreeeetch out and make mommy a little uncomfortable. Yesterday it was really quite painful, I was actually starting to get a little worried.
Last night I sat down and designed my baby shower invites and will have them in the mail by Monday. I had so much fun making them! I think I am a little obsessed with this nautical theme :)
Well, Jason came over Monday and took one load of stuff. When he left he told us that he would be back Tuesday for the rest and then take his white trash car on Wednesday. Well it's Thursday and my babies room is still full of sh*t and there are still millions of holes in the walls. My patients have run out, like a month ago. I have lived a lot of places and have had a lot of roommates. When you have an agreement with someone that you will be out by the first of the month, you are. I think that Shanes niceness is being taken advantage of and it really makes me angry.
